Jesse Update

So I just realized I didn't update what ever became of Jesse's kennel cough. So we took her to the vet last Thursday morning worried since she hadn't ate or drank anything for almost 2 days. Wednesday night she had a really high fever, I couldn't even get her to move, it was so sad. As reluctant as I was about spending money on the vet's I knew we had to go. So I went to work Thursday morning and Daniel ended up being able to get her an appointment, so we took her in to find out, she had an upper respiratory infection. Really, so they give her a shoot of super antibiotics, give her an IV to get some fluids in her (this was so not fun), and sent us home. Well the next day Jesse pooped this really weird poop that had me concerned, so we went back to the vet with the poop of course. At that time, they gave her tons of test and gave her another shot of super antibiotics and gave her a new antibiotic to give her at home since the other one didn't seem to be helping her at all. They also gave her an appetite pill, to make her hungry so that she might eat. I get her home that day and she finally eats, finally (I was even making her chicken and rice, for the dog remind you) and drinks a whole bunch. Thank you Jesus, I was really started to get worried. The vet called on Friday morning to check on her and tell me all the results of her tests came back negative, except for distemper. Now she was just vaccinated for this not even a week ago, so he thinks this is why the test is showing positive, well lets hope. After reading up on distemper, it doesn't sound good. So now that we have $1000 into this dog, yes one thousand dollars and that doesn't include the vacuum we had to get I just hope she makes it out of all this.
As of this Wednesday she is eating and drinking without any reminder, no poop yet, not sure why, but I know it will come eventually (glad that isn't my job). As she feels better day by day, she gets into more trouble, which is a good sign I guess.
