Just Like That

Jesse is gone. As most of you know, since we took Jesse in our family it has been a lot of work. I considered getting rid of her once, and then thought I was over reacting, so I reevaluated and decided not to get rid of her. Well once I realized that having to much on my plate was really stressing me out and I wasn't being the nicest Mom and wife I could be, I needed to drop some of the stress. Since it had gotten really bad since Jesse came I knew I had to find her a new home. I wasn't ok with just giving her to anyone, so it was an interview process. I put her on Craigs list and got many calls on her, but Bob knew she was the dog for him.
Jesse's new Dad lives on 40 acres, with a pond on it, he brought pictures for us to see to help us feel better about where she was going. He is not married, has no kids, Jesse will be his companion. He loves dogs, his passed away in April due to kidney failure and she is replacing her.
I feel really good about where she went. When she was leaving and in the car, I took her face in my hands and said to her, "Sorry Jesse, sorry that I couldn't give you what you needed". And Jesse's new Dad said, "don't be sorry, you gave her life by rescuing her from the shelter. You nursed her back to health, and then found her a good home, don't feel bad. You did what was right"
We will miss Jesse. She was part of the family. I hope she lives a doggy dream in Paradise, CA.
