49 Weeks Old

It was really unplanned I tell you (which means no pictures) but Jack got his first hair cut!!!!
Before
After
This is how is went down, I was taking Ashton in for his very much needed hair cut ( Salon Mama got shut down due to lack of talent), and while I was there thought I should ask him if he can do anything with Jacks hair. So I did, a little scared he make a scene being that it was nap time and lunch was just around the corner, but it was worth a try. He first said he "I will just trim it up, and while Jack was doing that he sat so good in the chair by himself that he said, "I am just going to continue since he is doing so good", and he did. He had a complete hair cut sideburns trimmed and everything this week. He looks so grown up, like he is 14 months old or something, lol.
Good Job Jack, I hope that it continues to be that easy.

The Price You Pay With No TV

This is simply a funny little story. We don't have cable anymore for two reasons so with that the TV really is hardly ever on, which means no news, and apparently non informed. I didn't know that the price of stamps were going up, so I stick my LATE mothers day cards in the mail Monday morning along with Eric's unemployment slip and the mortgage and I think nothing of it. Well I don't stop by the mail box that often only because most of my bills I get online or they all come at once (like now). So to my surprise when I got the mail a week later there are the cards, and the mortgage. Really!! $100 LATE FEE all because of $.02, really? Of course the cards where there to, I was wondering why I hadn't heard anything yet, but the best part was that Eric's unemployment slip squeak thu somehow, ugh.
Luckily my Lender Mr.Staham waved the late fee this month since I called and told him my sob story, but just this once (and I totally believe it).

Who's 31 ?!?!?!

That's right, my Eric-e-bo. He is by far the closet to retarded as I am and I wouldn't want it any other way. He is a free spirit, well right now at least, but he is making the most of it, and I admire him for it.
Happy 31st Birthday Brother
You are so dear to this family

48 Weeks Old

So Lil Jack is progressing in his standing ability. Just last night he stood without holding on ( I don't have a picture yet so this will have to do) !! It was really exciting so I yelled out "look at you Buddy" and it scared him then he fell. We just opened our last can of formula, and I will be so excited when we can just give him the thick milk (vitamin D) and get rid of all the ba ba's. I am trying to transition him to table food, but sometimes it is so much easier to feed the jar food, much more convenient. But after our stock is gone that is it, no more baby food!

Jesse Update

So I just realized I didn't update what ever became of Jesse's kennel cough. So we took her to the vet last Thursday morning worried since she hadn't ate or drank anything for almost 2 days. Wednesday night she had a really high fever, I couldn't even get her to move, it was so sad. As reluctant as I was about spending money on the vet's I knew we had to go. So I went to work Thursday morning and Daniel ended up being able to get her an appointment, so we took her in to find out, she had an upper respiratory infection. Really, so they give her a shoot of super antibiotics, give her an IV to get some fluids in her (this was so not fun), and sent us home. Well the next day Jesse pooped this really weird poop that had me concerned, so we went back to the vet with the poop of course. At that time, they gave her tons of test and gave her another shot of super antibiotics and gave her a new antibiotic to give her at home since the other one didn't seem to be helping her at all. They also gave her an appetite pill, to make her hungry so that she might eat. I get her home that day and she finally eats, finally (I was even making her chicken and rice, for the dog remind you) and drinks a whole bunch. Thank you Jesus, I was really started to get worried. The vet called on Friday morning to check on her and tell me all the results of her tests came back negative, except for distemper. Now she was just vaccinated for this not even a week ago, so he thinks this is why the test is showing positive, well lets hope. After reading up on distemper, it doesn't sound good. So now that we have $1000 into this dog, yes one thousand dollars and that doesn't include the vacuum we had to get I just hope she makes it out of all this.
As of this Wednesday she is eating and drinking without any reminder, no poop yet, not sure why, but I know it will come eventually (glad that isn't my job). As she feels better day by day, she gets into more trouble, which is a good sign I guess.

Jesse Has Left Her Mark

Holes in the screen.
A flat tire on the Lighting McQueen slipper.
A wooden nail to the work bench seems to be a little different then the rest. She has trotted out with my dansko's on several occasions, Jesse is like having another baby, only she leaves her poop outside in a pile instead of the diaper, I don't know which is better. I am thinking of getting a Donna gate (a gate that has a small door built into it and you open it with our foot, so even Ashton would be able to open it, and it is high) at the playroom entrance just because it is hard to tell the 11 month old baby and almost 3 year old to have all the toys picked up just in case the dog gets it, gate=sanity.

Mothers Day...

and Birthdays.
Eric is turning 31 on Friday and will be in Hawaii so we celebrated him getting old today so he would feel special and old.
Tasha's birthday was today, on Mothers day. She turned the big 18!! It was a nice day, my parents came up and Daniels parents from Oroville. Daniel did end up doing the dishes but not till the next day, but only due to me feeling sick, but at least he did it. Happy Mother's Day to all of the FABULOUS MOMS that read this blog.

Secert Sister Gift #2

Yummy, a $10 Starbucks gift card. Starbucks coffee is very rare these days so this was exciting to get. I am saving if for a time when I really need a jump or to enjoy by myself without kids in the backseat saying "we want a hot chocolate and a cookie". Sometimes it is good to be selfish, I think.

Learning How To Drink Out Of A Sippy Cup

With all of the other kids I tossed all the bottles out when they turned the big "1". Some how I haven't been really good about giving the sippy cup to Jackson, only every now and then, well he totally wont drink out of it, by himself at least. So Since we are on our last can or formula and only weeks away from his birthday we had better get it down. It was comical watching him do different stuff trying to drink out of it.
" Maybe if I just lean into it, it will go in my mouth"
"Or maybe shake it really hard" "Well it doesn't leak like the baba, what is the deal with this thing" "ok whip out the magic, abracadabra, sippy cup go in my mouth" "ok the magic didn't work, but Mommy did show me again, now if I could just get something out of it"

47 Weeks Old

Getting confident as you can see, holding on only with one hand. I just said to Daniel, "doesn't it seem like in the last week he has totally grown up", he agreed. Jack is so much more independent, he really can do so much for himself all he needs me for a handle full of things, well you know what I mean. I know I keep saying this but I am so sad that all this growing up is happening so fast, I am with him all the time yet I feel like I miss so stuff. Slow down dear baby, I am not ready for you to grow up.

Bath Time

So much fun and we haven't even got in the bath yet.
Oh these boy's love to splash.
And look at the third baby in the bath, can you see him?
And that third baby loves kisses from Jack
Precious
Boys just have fun.

Poor Jesse

The kennel cough made it's appearance today. Around 11, after our first walk to the park she started to feel bad. But she was able to love on her baby still...
but now, it is all bad. She has a runny nose and doesn't want to eat or drink or even move :(
If she continues down this path, we will call the vet tomorrow to make sure there is nothing else we can do. Pray for Jesse please.

Priceless Expressions

need I say more

Bringing Jesse Home

This morning we were all so excited to get Jesse. The boys and I were gone all morning so when I went to the shelter to pick her up I was surprised to hear that she didn't get spayed as planned. She had showed some symptoms of kennel cough and the vet didn't want to do the surgery till she is in good health. So, the shelter still let us take her, they will call in a week or two to check on her and then if she seems ok, we will schedule the appointment then. As soon as we left the shelter we went over to the vet to get some antibiotics so that the virus doesn't turn into an infection. They said she had been coughing but I still haven't heard anything yet and it has almost been 24 hours since we had here. She was really scared, shaking like a leaf in the car, she sat on the girls lap the whole way home.
When we first got home I was terrified that she would run away from me, but all was fine. I put her on the toggle thing in the front yard so I could get some of the hair off her and to calm down a little before we went inside. TONS of hair came off, I am not surprised, but really, yuck.
She was really cute, totally into looking at everything, she has still only barked one time since we brought her home, and that was at a dog that was being walked in front of the house.
Jesse is so busy taking it all in she had zero interest in any of the toys that we got her, but I'm sure that will change after a while.
Then the big step, going into the house. She was all spy like, sniffing and staying low to the ground, just to make sure all was good I guess. After looping the house about 10 times and going further in the rooms each time, she chilled out. All I could think about was how much hair was dropping as she walked, don't worry, I am working on it. Oh no she is itching something, not fleas I hope.
So she is here, no turning back now. I feel totally over whelmed with all the things the kids need, Daniel, the house and now the dog. But somehow I will get it all figured out, I hope, pray for me please.

Ok, Ok, Ok, I Couldn't Keep A Surprise

I know I am a little disappointed that I couldn't wait for the big reveal, but I did wait to tell them at the shelter. So this is how it went, for 1:40 I shopped at Pet smart with this floor clerk Kathy, she was great, like my personal shopper for the whole trip, anyways. With her help I got everything a dog may need, with a picky owner that is. So after that trip, I really wanted to tell the kids, not only that I was having to hide all the stuff. So it was 3:25 and I decided on a limb that if we went right now we could get there before the visiting hours were over at 4. So in the rain we rush over to Marysville, they keep asking were we are going and I keep telling them to see there Dad. So once we arrive, Kirsten reads the sign and says "are we getting a dog?" and I answer "no I told you we are never going to get a dog, I hate dog hair". So all sad and mopey we walk in to see all the dogs, I ask all them to stand together so I can document the trip. Then after that I say that is our dog you are standing in front of, and
they are in disbelief, they had to verify again with me that we ARE getting a dog,
and then they turn to show Jesse some love.
Jesse was so happy that someone was standing at her kennel petting her though the bars, it is so sad to see her in there knowing she really is ours now.
See even the paper says she is ADOPTED!!
Just a cute dog that needs a home.
Daniel wanted this buff guy, but he was adopted already also, and I wouldn't have picked him.
This was Kirsten's pick, Alaskin Husky.
And they liked Gunner too.
But Jesse is ours, only a few more days and she will be home.
